Peoples and Kingdoms
Dines
Most Dines are just normal humans, but occasionally an operator is born to them. These operators seem rather powerless, except in a few key areas. They are able to copy their personality into a soul engine. These soul engines are the only way to make mist refineries and air purification towers. Access to this technology is what has allowed the Dines to become the dominant tribe in the mist sea.
Operators have their entire life planned for them as soon as their powers are discovered. While they are given a large sum of money for them and their family, they must work for the government and operate large mist structures.
Mindkeepers
The mindkeepers are a collection of mountain tribes that share a council of elders. While small in number, there people hold a powerful magic technique. Members of the Mindkeepers can access the memories and skills of deceased mindkeepers. By training in a skill, they are able to access previous memories and practice of others who trained in that skill.
Rotators
These people are able to rotate objects through touch. This does not require an idea generator and is done through touch.
Duos
Duos are people who inhabit two bodies simultaneously. Due to having to control two bodies at once, they are able to complete simultaneous tasks. They can hold two conversations at the same time, focus on two tasks at the same time, etc. Duos are occasionally born to regular humans, but being a duo is somewhat genetic. A duo is born like a twin. If one of the duo’s bodies die, then the duo becomes a Half.
Oilmancers
Oilmancers have the ability to convert mist into various kinds of oil. They are able to use this ability to make massive flames using a special device called a lantern gun. If they have enough mist, they are even able to gain slight control over the oil fires in the area. This allows them to cast fireballs, walls of fire, and fire cones. They can even control oil fires from a distance as long as there is a connecting area of mist to send information from.
MistMerchants
These people have their own name, but are called Merchants due to that being one of the only interactions they have with other tribes. These people are able to survive in mist without protection, and some speculate that they actually require the mist to survive. These nomadic tribes live in the deep mist sea, and are believed to worship what they seem to call “wandering wills”. Unfortunately they do not seem to have a spoken language, but over many years of trading a sign language known as Barter Finger has arisen. It is believed they communicate by breathing out mist with encoded information to each other.
Keepers
A group that specializes in the art of soulsteam healing. They use their power to create a seal around the hurt individual. This seal collects all the soulsteam that leaks from the individual after being forced out by the healing soulsteam. They can then replace the healing soulsteam with the original soulsteam. This allows them to heal large injuries without major memory loss.
Sorcerous Matriarchy
A kingdom ruled by a soulsteam sorcerer based lineage.
Spirit Kingdom of Corcell
A medieval style kingdom ruled a powerful spirit named Corcell.
Hegeminell
A clone hegemony, with each province of the kingdom being led by a different army of clones.
